# Sarron
> Sarron is a contemporary Jamdani apparel label from Bengal, India. We make dresses, co-ord sets, tops, shirts, jackets and sarees, most of them in handwoven Jamdani and some in handblock printed handloom cotton. Most pieces are made to order. Imagined and handwoven in Bengal.
Sarron sells direct to customers worldwide at https://sarron.in. The brand works within the Jamdani weaving tradition, a handloom technique where each motif is woven in as a discontinuous supplementary weft, one thread at a time. Jamdani is on the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity (2013). Sarron builds on that craft with motifs and techniques that have not existed in Jamdani before.
Most pieces are made to order. Each one moves through designing, dyeing, weaving or handblock printing, tailoring and hand detailing, which can take months of work. For the customer, the time from order to dispatch is generally three to five weeks. A smaller ready-to-ship range stays in stock for those who cannot wait. Sarron Handicrafts Private Limited runs the brand, and design and production are based in West Bengal, India.
